Course Description: It is a free, community-based educational program designed to empower youth and families to recognize and reduce harmful chemical exposures in daily life. Through engaging lessons, real-world examples, and hands-on activities, participants learn how common toxins in food, personal care products, household items, and the environment can impact health, contributing to issues such as asthma, hormonal imbalance, and chronic disease. The course emphasizes practical, evidence-based strategies for making safer choices, reading labels, and adopting healthier lifestyles, while also fostering awareness of environmental justice and community health. By the end of the program, participants gain the knowledge and confidence to protect their own well-being and serve as informed advocates for healthier homes and communities.
Course Objectives: By the end of the course, the following objectives will be attained:

Participants will be able to identify and describe common toxins found in everyday products and food systems, including basic sources such as processed foods, plastics, and personal care items.

Participants will be able to explain how exposure to these toxins can affect human health, including impacts on the respiratory system, hormones, and overall well-being.
